anyway to exclude a library from the search results

probably an  odd request

but i have my main music collection in a library called "Music"

i also have another library  that is full of Live recordings etc.  called "live Music Recordings" 

these are just some of my favorite bands with fan recordings.   but's it's overwhelming when i search for a song and i only want the studio version and not 50 different Live versions of that song.

i don't want anything from the Live Music Recordings library to show up when i search for something.   i still want to manually browse to that library and navigate and play a file if i choose.

any flags besides .ignore that i could place in the Live music recording library folder that would cause them to not be indexed or searched?

With search being global there currently is no way to exclude them and still have them available to the user.

Hi,

just found this thread as I'm lookin for something simliar.

As I just added my Music to my Emby Movie Library - but basically don't want to search there - is there any chance to exclude folders or libraries from global search results?

And:

Would be great to exclude a library from "activity logs" also. Is this possible?

There is currently no way to exclude a library from search, but this has come up before and is possible for the future. Thanks.

(I found a way to ignore a user on playback log, but not on activity log)

I just wanted to follow up with this as i found a workaround that works for me for now and might help others.     i created another emby user and that user only has access to my live music folder.  my primary user account i use does not have access to the live music folder so i simply switch over to that account when i want to hear live music and then back over for everything else.  

works for me.

 

ideally i'd love to see emby incorporate the option to not index/searchable a library but this works for me.
