bishop2001 2 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Greetings, I notice that if you correct the metadata for the imdb id etc...section and if you do a refresh metadata it reverts back to the old metadata links. Anyone know how to fix this? It someone finds the old metadata on refresh. Thanks
GrimReaper 4762 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 If you don't want changes to your Edits, you should Lock the item afterwards (upon making those). 1
Luke 42086 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Actually no, external id's don't get changed on metadata refreshes, so there is no need to lock the metadata. We'd have to go over a specific example, but here's my guess: You have an nfo file containing the wrong id's, you change the data in the emby metadata editor, but you haven't enabled saving to nfo files in your library settings. As a result, the nfo file does not get updated, and then you refresh metadata and it gets re-read from there.
GrimReaper 4762 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 (edited) I uderstood that as a general query, not only ID related, as per: 2 hours ago, bishop2001 said: that if you correct the metadata for the imdb id etc... Hence locking, but sure, I might've misunderstood as well, let's see an example. Edited November 20, 2021 by GrimReaper Typo
Luke 42086 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 For most other fields, yes that procedure would be fine, or just locking the individual field (which nowadays the editor will auto-lock when you start editing).
bishop2001 2 Posted November 20, 2021 Author Posted November 20, 2021 When doing a refresh metadata it's reading some file from somewhere and reverring the metadata. Is there a directory where these nfo files are stored? The only file in the folder in the video file.
Luke 42086 Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 There isn't another directory where nfo files would be kept. I think we should circle back to this (please click the link): Quote We'd have to go over a specific example, Thanks.
