gene0915 42 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Using Debian 11 I don't know if upgrading to 4.6.6.0 triggered this but my Movies library is CONSTANTLY scanning/refreshing metadata non-stop. I'll see the little green circle on it and it flashes from 91% then to 97% then to 92% then 99% and then 91/98..... like it's stuck in some loop. I let it sit like this overnight and it was still doing it this morning. Attaching a screenshot and log file. I just now nuked the Movies library and am letting it refresh so we'll see if that fixes it. Thanks embyserver.txt
Luke 42078 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Hi, there are changes to your files and the realtime monitor is picking them up and rescanning. You could try turning off the realtime monitor in your emby libraries.

Off the top of my head, Plex is the only other app on my server that reads from my movie directory (it lacks write permission to it). I have a daily backup that runs at 7pm every night. Turning off the realtime monitor option fixed the issue but can you think of any ways I could try and troubleshoot this to see what process is trigging Emby into scanning that dir continuously?
Luke 42078 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Something is writing into your media directories. That is what is triggering the Emby realtime monitor, so you'll want to figure out what that is. It may cause longer library scans because when you do run a scan, the server will think lots of different things have changed and need rescanning. 1
