Yeah I don't think it's coming anytime soon...

Hallo together,

Is there at least any known workaround for this issue?

I mean for me it is a mandatory functionality since simply the picture does not look correct (as opposed to lets say if one filter is broken only, no show stopper for me). I just don't want to rely on Infuse all the time although the will is there to completely switch to Emby.

Thank you in advance for any help!

You can try t convert mkv to mp4 and use the native player, but I haven't had much luck, playback usually stalls.

Yeah I tried encoding in mp4 but didn’t work really.

Right now I switch to my TV OS to play 4Ks, but I’m testing plex and Jellyfin right now.

Plex switches hdr fine…via native app and infuse.

jellyfin has same issue as emby. Unless you use infuse.

Can we hope that emby will play HDR, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision Profiles 5 and 8 in Apple TV?

How to use it on the Apple TV 4K latest generation?

Any help?

@ragicoThe developers have not, as far as I'm aware, fully acknowledged that their app doesn't switch to HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision when playing those types of content. Also, the developers never give time frames or guarentees as to when (or even if) something will be fixed.

I'm on the latest beta version of Apple TV, and my HDR10 content and test Dolby Vision content still don't play in HDR. So we just have to wait and hope the developers do fix it soon.

Searching the forum, it appears this issue has been known about for over 2 years, so I'm not expecting it any time soon.

I'd add, usually the devs say "there's an update coming" but it never addresses the switch.

I switched to infuse.

Any new updates on this?  I’d really like to switch over from Plex but this is still sort of a showstopper.
