Lots of cover art missing and other errors

I just updated my Emby. It's working okay except now I'm missing lots of TV show and Movie artwork. I also have lots of errors in my logs which I don't know what they mean. I've tried to refresh metadata but it does't work also the same happens when I try clicking "Identify" and adding TV show artwork manually. I've attached my logs. Thanks

Hi, yes apologies for the disruption. This is due to an outgoing SSL problem. We'll be getting a 4.6.6 update out today to resolve it. Thanks.

I am having the same problem withh music files - see below - Windows 4.6.7.0 server - I have rescanned library and refreshed metadata multiple times but still seeing cover art properly loaded only for SOME music albums - see below. Any tips on how to fix this globally, instead of clicking through to hundreds of albums to manually load cover art that is correctly encoded in the music files?

Never mind - all album covers finally loaded after third library scan and metadata refresh.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am now noticing a bunch of album covers still did not get loaded, even though they load fine in Plex and a cover jpg exists in the album directory. On further investigation it appears the images that Emby is not loading are 200x200 in size, rather than 300x300 or larger, as most of my library's image files are. Is Emby coded to not load images below a certain size threshold? Could that be changed, since we can manually load images of this size just fine?

Or perhaps the issue is when the cover art jpg is titled "cover.jpg" rather than "folder.jpg"? Could Emby look for either of those (very common) names when looking for local cover art?

Would need to go over specific examples as cover.ext is supported.

Image Type Supported file names
Primary folder.ext
  poster.ext
  cover.ext

default.ext

I hear you, but this is not how Emby behaved when it imported my library - cover.jpg files were not imported in multiple cases - mysterious, but probably not worth further investigation.

I would, though, recommend several 'last chance' processing be added to Emby's selecting and displaying of cover art, when none of the possibilities in that support article apply:

1. select any other existing image file in that folder - ex. often a cover art file is named 'albumname'.jpg - I am seeing this is the cause of a bunch of album covers Emby didn't import.

2. select from an online metadata source an image of the Album Artist

Just friendly suggestions...

One question, what is the library "Music folder structure:" set to?  As that affects usage of folder images.

'Perfectly organized into folders: artist/album/track'

Not sure then as cover.ext is used in all my tests so I don't know of any other variables.

Have you considered adding Discogs as a metadata source? I am finding lots of album cover images there, which neither Emby's initial import nor manual  "find cover art" functions are retrieving from any of the sources that are available (all of which which I included) in library settings.

Discogs is something we'd like to add support for in future updates, yes.
