love_stef 0 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Hi, I'm a user in mainland China and I have to setup proxy software on my router to access services such as twitter, youtube that blocked by the goverment's Great Firewall . Therefore, the emby server may get the proxy server's ip address , I know emby was using ipv4bot.whatismyipaddress.com to detect the server's ip , so I add ipv4bot.whatismyipaddress.com to a exclude list and emby can get the correct server ip. Since this site is no longer available, the ip check service must have changed. Can Anyone please tell me the ip check service domin so I can add the site to a exclude list again?thanks very much!
Solution Luke 42079 Posted November 16, 2021 Solution Posted November 16, 2021 Hi, in your case, best thing to do is configure your external IP in the emby server network section and then you won't have to depend on it contacting any external service. Just keep in mind you'll have to keep the setting up to date when it changes. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

I only get dynamic IP so it's very hard to configure external IP everytime when it chagnges .I didn't finnd external IP in network section and there is a option called external domain. I filled my DDNS domain in it and the remote access in server information is now http://mydomain:8096 . Does it means emby connect will also use the DDNS domain instead of the external IP?
