TV episodes not displaying properly in Continue Watching

I use the "Next Up TV" while watching a number of series concurrently.

Not all series display in the  "Next Up TV" section. I can drill down and watch the desired episode and it will play fine.

I cannot click on the series and the "Play next episode" as it will play a random episode from somewhere in the series. The 'Play Next' will aways play the same episode, even when that episode has been played with along with all episodes before it.

I have also tried using the just the "Contiue Watching" removing the Next up (legacy). it just shows the same Next Up files as what would have been in the Next Up section if it were still there.

Reading this thread, it seems like the OP has soved the problem, but I must have missed how. Can the user data be deleted and reset perhaps. I don't mind start from scratch if this is the only way to fix the problem.

There seems to be a number of issues with Emby of late. I really don't want to go back to using Plex - that has other issues ('Features') by design that for my needs make Emby the better product. But at this rate, I am seriously considering it.

Hi there @damichab can you please go over a specific example? Thanks.

H Luke.

The two screen shots below...

The first one shows the 'Next Up'. The second one shows the series "Two and a Half Men" which I watch on regular rotation (Not the first time I have watched this). This should be showing on the list.

The second image shows the series. As you can see, it is part way though season 4.  When I press the 'Play Next Up', what plays is the episode s7e1. This is the second cycle through this series where this has happened (The first few times this series was played, it worked ok). It does not matter which episode should be played next, one before s7e1, s7e1 itself, or any after it, the same s7e1 plays next and the series never shows on the 'Next Up' list.

The series on the 'Next Up' list that do show up, show and play the correct episode. There are a number of series that don't show up correctly - I just picked "Two and a Half Men" as a convienient example.

Hi.  This is a re-watch scenario, correct?

Try this, go to S6E24 (or whatever the last episode is) and mark it watched and then mark it unwatched again.  Then go to the last episode you actually watched and play it and skip to the end and back out.

Did that have any impact?

Just tried this and it makes no difference. Something with the series has got itself corrupted. Can the button itself be reset?

I have also tried (in the past) resetting file s7e1, the whole season (6 & 7) and the whole series - none of which made any differnece.

This should be improved in the upcoming 4.7 release. Thanks.

When is 4.7 to be released? Currently my server is on 4.6.7 and the message is that this is up to date. When are you planning on releasing 4.7?

I had an idea that my user profile might have been corrupted, so I created a new one to replace the old one. Interestingly, all the tv series that seem to be out of whack, are still out of whack at the same episodes as it was before. I then realised that I could have saved time by checking my wife's user profile! Hers too had the Next up episode in all the same wrong places. So I guess it has nothing to do with user profiles.

No one can say as, but Combine Continue Watching row is currently broke in 4.7.0.19.

Finally found a fix...

I have each series in its own folder. I renamed the folders for each problem series (chucked an xxx in the filename) the did a scan, then renamed it back and did another scan - all fixed.
