Anderella 13 Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Hey, as I‘m the more I try, the more I‘m getting a fan of emby….. I‘m thinking of upgrading my environment. Right now I‘m using my MacMini (Late 2014) OSX Big Sur, 16 GB RAM as my server, with my QNAP TS-221 connected (SMB Volumes). (Unfortunately til now there‘s no way to install the server there) And as I‘m converting my ISO-DVD and BLURAY Images step by step to MKV files, I probably need a server upgrade. (4 Bay instead of 2 Bay) My selection right now, I would like to stay with Qnap: QNAP TS-451D2-2G Dual Core (with upgraded 16 GB RAM) Frontend/Playback-Device: FIRE-TV (Ethernet wired) or iPad (WIFI) (PS4 and again Fire-TV in my other flat, access via internet) Can someone verify that this model works great and stable with emby, or do you have other recommendations or suggestions? Concerning disk usage: As I have and will backup everything on separate HDDs, I would prefer JBOD (if one drive fails, the others stay „readable“) Or is RAID the better choice because of read/write speed? (Raid 0 would be my selection in this case) Thx for feedback and hints!
Luke 42077 Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Hi, the ts451 is very popular and I'm sure you'll have a good experience with that. I would suggest keeping it simple with jbod.
Anderella 13 Posted November 13, 2021 Author Posted November 13, 2021 Thank you. Followed your hint and bought one TS-451D2. As it's not listed, which of the server-pkg I should download and install? https://emby.media/qnap-server.html
Anderella 13 Posted November 14, 2021 Author Posted November 14, 2021 Thank you. Installed at it runs:)
