Emby server portable next to regular emby server?

To attempt to go around my issues downloading plugins I would like to try to install a portable instance of emby server next to the regular emby server.  Is this possible, and where would the portable install put my plugin .dll file?  Thanks.

Yes it is. The server log will help you locate the plugin dll files.

One thing to keep in mind.  If you want to run both at the same time you need to change the ports used on one installation which I'd assume would be the portable version.
To do this shut down your normal Emby and start the portable version.

Change the ports used and restart it.
Restart your main Emby server.

Thanks for all of the advice.  That didn't help my issue but I was able to see the plugin catalogue address in my log file and grab the plugins executable.  It doesn't look like it will run in windows on its own.  Is there a command I can give emby or something to ingest this file?

As an alternative, can I install emby server on a linux machine, grab my plugin, and transfer the file to a windows machine?

I do.  It's in the front iew plus support thread because I originally thought the issue was with that.  Sorry for the double post but I didn't want to litter that thread too much with my server issues
