ng4ever 40 Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 I understand now why a cellular connection could never replace a hardwire line for internet video streaming for huge 4k movies or videos. More people using cellular or less bandwidth overall ? I know what people are going to say why or what is the need to have a 4k quality video on such a small phone or tablet screen. I don't care. Still nice to have.

ember1205 23 Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Curious to understand the details behind this question... 4K streams need to be around 15Mbps or so in size. So, there really isn't a direct issue with BW limitations on 4G or better networks. Although, large quantities of people streaming at that rate will consume an awful lot of BW. First Responders typically have reserved BW on those networks as well, so there definitely is a need to keep BW available for them... Wireless providers commonly intercept streamed video content and reduce it to 480 or 720 to drastically reduce overall network usage because there is seldom a need to stream the high quality content for small screens. Did you run into a situation where there was a problem?
