Question about locking metadata

Hi,

I've been unable to get any images pulled through when refreshing metadata. A few days ago I noticed some poster.jpg's had gone missing so I did a manual refresh choosing to replace all images. This removed all of my images but did not replace any apart from screenshots. I disabled the Screen Grabber option from the image fetcher option and this stopped the screen grabs, but no images are returned at all. Only If I select Edit Images will it let me manually pull each image through.

 

I have rebuilt the server to try to resolve but still having no luck.  Log attached, any help would be appreciated.

So what i can see in your log. It seems emby never tries to download images, it is trying to extract them right out of the file and this is not working if no image to extract is here.
 

Can you cange your image grabber to TheMovieDB for movies and TheTVDB for TV Shows and place them on the first position and try it again?

For me it seems there are no external image grabbers active or lets say, i can't find any download tries in the log.

Yes this is what I'm seeing too. Nothing has changed on my server and I hadn't touched Emby, which has been installed for many years, it just started happening..

 

Image fetcher for movies is already set to TheMovieDB, then Fanart, then TheOMD, and like I said, no settings were ever changed, it just stopped working.

Mystery solved. I had locked the nfo from being updated on all my media (after a recent spell of updating using Radarr trashed all the dates my movies were added!)

 

I didn't expect this to stop images from being updated - but now I know.

I haven't tested this but should Emby be able to delete images if metadata is locked in this scenario?

Tested this and yes images are deleted but not fetched when metadata is locked.

I tested this same thing yesterday, with the same result.
This needs a small tweak @Luke to allow the system to fetch the images in this situation.
Then it needs to block the user from deleting or replacing images from the Emby UI when locked.
