kbeck 64 Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 I tagged some episodes for Halloween and Christmas. Windows browser does not have a Tags tab under TV like Movies does (I did not try the Theater). I can get there the long way around by finding an episode I've already tagged....at the bottom it showa the tag then click on the tag it it will bring up the complete list. But sure would be nice to have the tab at the top. 1
Carlo 4561 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Have you thought of assigning them a Genre as well as tag? That might get you by for TV use. BTW, don't know if this is something you've thought about or would want to do but I've got over 800 Christmas movies and like to filter them out in January until around Thanksgiving. If using tags you can set a filter for "Christmas" so that they don't show up. Or what I prefer to do is keep them all in a different Movie branch and then do this:

How do you filter them "out" with tags? Don't you have to select all the other tags every time you go to your movies list? I just put Christmas in a collection so they're only 1 item on the screen.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Well in the end content type header tabs has to be redesigned as adding more tabs becomes problematic. Yes a desktop potentially has lots of room but smaller screens are not that lucky. So eventually you will have to stack the header tabs or scroll to see all options.

Yea, but if we can choose what shows up and push the stuff we don't use as much to the end that would partially solve the problem. I believe ebr posted about that feature request a few days ago. Hopefully that's what they're planning before there are too many tabs.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 ET use to have a issue with this as it was limited to 8 tabs. But since Movies can currently have 9 tabs, other content types should also. But yes tabs themselves need to configurable and sortable.
Luke 42083 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Yes we need to add the Tags tab to TV libraries. Thanks for reporting.

I'm referring to times of the year when you don't want to see the Christmas or Halloween movies in your library. You can use the folder approach I showed in the previous pic or can go into users->user name->parental tab then scroll down and set and add the "Christmas" tag to the section "Restrict Items With Tags". Any tags you add to that section will get filtered out of all results. Great for hiding content from kids or for hiding things like movies out of season as well.

Ok, I thought you had some trick to a quick filter for your own view. I prefer to have everything available to see, but would like to be able to filter certain items out at times. At the moment, there's currently no easy way to do that.
kbeck 64 Posted October 31, 2021 Author Posted October 31, 2021 Thanks for the replies. I just thought since it was on Movies it would be simple in TV. @cayarsI keep my Christmas is a separate folder so I create a library just for them. No filtering needed. You are right, the genre would have worked just as well.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 I have the same. I have my Christmas movies in in there own folder but added to both Holiday/Seasonal Library and Movies folder. At Christmas time they only show in the Holiday Library but I turn that off after the holidays so then depending on user (I give them a choice) I either add back to Movies or not. Give me a bit of flexibility. My Holiday/Seasonal library also has Easter, Halloween, Valentines, etc Movies as well that get used the same way. 1
kbeck 64 Posted October 31, 2021 Author Posted October 31, 2021 I found a workaround to my problem. Created an "Entire Library" library with all the movie folders and the TV folders. The Tags tab there shows the TV Show episodes I've tagged.

I don't really care. We can't do what should be and don't do it any other way you'll have problems. It's a really good software but it seems every time I ask for help I wind up regretting that I bought it. Hell of a wsy to run a business.

We apologize it isn't ready right at this point in time. On 10/30/2021 at 10:57 PM, Luke said: Yes we need to add the Tags tab to TV libraries. Thanks for reporting.
