williechan 2 Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 Hello,In the past two days, I found that the mbyserver process was automatically shut down within a minute or two after it was started. I don’t know why. embyserver.txt
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 I just discovered that I was having a similar problem. My server PC runs Emby and DrivePool (with 13 external drives) and a few other support programs. Emby would start and run for a bit and then shutdown. After some investigation I discovered that one of my drives had had its USB cable loosen just enough so its contact was intermittent. After I fixed that connection problem and restarted the PC (I had restarted several times before to no effect.) the problem resolved itself and DrivePool reported no missing drives. My DrivePool setup includes folder duplication and, in the past, if a drive failed or became unplugged or some such the PC and Emby continued to function normally as access to any files the were on the drive that was giving problems simply switched to the redundant backup files that were on a different drive. This time that did not happen either because of something being directly effected by the connection problem or, and this is what I suspect, the connection issue was causing DrivePool to generate a huge number of errors quite quickly and that forced a reboot in some way. This is one of the cases where normal PC/program troubleshooting did not reveal the problem and I had logs turned off in DrivePool so that was no help except one time DrivePool sent an email saying that one of its drives was missing. I suspect that the USB connection's intermittent nature was not, normally, staying disconnected long enough for DrivePool to notice the drive involved was missing. This does involve one of the eldest drives in the pool (nearly 7.5 years in continuous operation) and that "could" mean that the support info the drive sends to the computer is somewhat antiquated and DrivePool did not get enough info to help with diagnosis. It should be noted that it took starting Emby or Plex (I only run one at a time) in order to produce the reboot. Also an external Emby server that is pointed to the same DrivePool through the internet does not produce a reboot so it is not simple file access that caused problems. It took a media server running on the same computer to get the reboot. This is most probably unrelated to the problem reported but it does hint that Emby(And Plex for that matter) can cause reboots if there is a malfunctioning drive or support hardware. Now the real challenge for me is figuring out if there is something I can do inside DrivePool or Windows to get a better report of exactly what is going wrong when something like this happens. It took me almost 4 hours to find and fix the problem and, with even decent reporting, it could have been found and fixed in less that 1 hour.
Luke 42083 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Hi there, I see you've installed a large number of third party plugins. Please go here: C:\Users\willi\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins And delete all of the .dll files that you find in this folder. Then restart Emby Server and let us know if that helps. Thanks.

Mstinga 6 Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 (edited) Good evening and congratulations to all of you, if any of you are using Nginx as a reverse proxy, the same thing happened to me that the Emby service stopped or gave an error, I started to check carefully and eliminate the Nginx server and buff the server It is running without any problem, now it is much faster, and it has been a week without problems, this could be the solution to those who are experiencing the same thing as me. Currently I have 651 users and simultaneously I have about 107 users online and the server has not presented any more problems since I did the ones I raised. Edited December 31, 2021 by Mstinga 3
