Bt2020 sdr tonemapping?

I'm still new to HDR so please forgive my ignorance.  Something I noticed for live tv 4k broadcasts is that my projector signal info show a color space of bt2020 sdr.  Is there some kind of transcodi g or tone mapping going on or is this normal.  The bit depth is 12 and I think the color format is 4:2:2.  Thanks

Here is a log from a 4k UHD Bluray playing.  This one shows BT2020 HDR on the projector info screen.

The ffmpeg log is for a 480i MPEG2VIDEO file so it will not have HDR.

Could you try and reproduce this again to get a good ffmpeg log file?

I can look through some of the other ffmpeg logs.  The 4k channels only play certain sports events so if the above doesn't work then I'll have to wait until the game is on that chanbel

That is most certainly and HDR10 video.

Would you be able to send a 3 to 5 minute sample of this file to use for testing?
I can provide instructions how to use ffmpeg from the command line to cut a small sample from the original file if needed.

I'll try it out but I have to wait for something to air on that channel.  What are the instructions

Is it also possible the projector isn't compatible with the cable signal.  Here is an overview of the signals my projector accepts.  Also bear in mind that I'm not trying to display 4k, and only 1080P.  I might have to nerd out on video science for a while to really understand this.  Anyway here is a link showing my PJ only does SDR with a 4k 60p signal.  https://epson.com/faq/SPT_V11H932020~faq-0000530-hc4010?faq_cat=faq-topFaqs

To answer the original question, there's no video conversion happening here, so these are the characteristics of the source stream.

So what is bt2020 sdr?  Is it the HDR color space at sdr brightness?
