Hello,

The normal top bar which contains profile button and Home/Favorite toggle is not present, and there is a second bottom bar super imposed on top. If I tap where the profile button is supposed to be, I can still access it. The background is very transparent too compared to normal.

Server Version: 4.6.4.0

Didn't see any logs under

/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/logs

Hello,

The web app looks as expected.

The web screenshot was Firefox 93.2.0

Chrome also looks fine, which is 94.0.4606.85

OK, well somewhat good news to report. I don't see the same issue on my Pixel 5, so hopefully this is not widespread. Do you have any system updates available by chance? Have you customized any system or display settings that could impact this? I'm testing on mostly default OS settings, other than enabling gesture navigation.

I don't have a Pixel 6 yet but I will within the next couple weeks, so I'll be able to try on that then.

Under display settings: Font size large

When put back to default I can now see the top menu. But when scrolling down I still get the superimposed bottom bar under the status bar at top.

My previous phone is a OnePlus 7 Pro and I have large font size on there with no issue, but it is running Android 11 with obviously the OnePlus skin on top.

I'm having the same issue on the Pixel 6 Pro. My font size is set to the default. I've cleared all cache and data but it persists. I've also noticed the "Save button is missing and replaced by another "Cancel" button. This happens when logging in or trying to create a new user, etc.

Very odd. I'll have a Pixel 6 within the next two weeks so hopefully I'll be able to reproduce. Thanks.

Just chiming in with my experience running a Pixel 6 (non-Pro version) against a Pixel 5, both running the latest Android 12 version.

I'm thinking because of the smaller screen size from the Pro, I am not seeing the duplicate bottom menu at the top of the screen, but I am seeing:

  • Duplicate 'Cancel' button on screens where a cancel button exists, eg. New User, Live TV setup, etc.
  • Super opaque overlays, seen in the popup and also top bar

I will report any other oddities I may come across.

Just to chime in. Same issues on my 6 Pro. Font size small, display size small. Willing to provide any logs or do any testing as requested.

Thanks!

Same here, pixel 6 pro having all the issues mentioned above.

Worth noting is that quite similar display issues are also seen with the Home Assistant app

Whenever I have music playing and return to the home screen the now playing info shows at the top and bottom of the screen.

Is this a feature or a "feature"?

Looks like the Pixel issue. Is that a new Pixel 6 Pro?

OK, testing on my Pixel 6, I can reproduce. My initial suspicion turned out to be true. It is a platform rendering defect and we can work around it by disabling the blur background effect that is used in many parts of the app.

I'll only disable it just for these two devices, or perhaps the whole chipset if we can detect that. This way it won't be lost on other devices. I'll periodically try to re-enable it and see if it can be used again. Thanks.

It isn't just the Emby app that behaves like this, I've seen similar behaviour in the home assistant app too, intermittently.

Yea I think they have issues that need addressing in either Chromium or the android WebView.

I'll be pushing an update to the beta channel in the store within the next day or so, but for immediate resolution you can grab the build from our website:

Thanks.

Downloading the apk fixed the issue for me. Will future updates from the play store download fine?
