Locutus64 125 Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) I'm running Manjaro testing and there are updates for it to day and when I go to install them I get the below. I would like to know since I won't lose my settings or libraries if I can just uninstall the Emby beta, do the updates and then reinstall Emby? ~ sudo pacman -Syu ✔ [sudo] password for locutus: :: Synchronizing package databases... core is up to date extra is up to date community is up to date multilib is up to date chaotic-aur 1569.2 KiB 2.20 MiB/s 00:01 [########################################] 100% herecura is up to date :: Starting full system upgrade... warning: gsettings-desktop-schemas: local (41.0-1) is newer than extra (40.0-3) :: Replace python-sgmllib with extra/python-sgmllib3k? escapereality 11 Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 I replied the following to your question at the AUR comment session. Quote Locutus64: No you'll not lose your libraries if you do the following (copy-paste from my earlier reply to someone else): Emby is built locally on your system, using the locally installed libx264 version. So to compile emby with libx264.so=160, ideally you should first update the x264 package (which is a hassle because of the dependency complaints). What you should do is first temporarily remove the emby-server-beta package (pacman -R emby-server-beta), then update x264 (pacman -Syu), and finally install emby-server-beta again. 1
Locutus64 125 Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 OK cool I just replied that did the trick, so thanks again.
Locutus64 125 Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) 2 hours ago, Luke said: How are you installing the beta package? either yay -S emby-server-beta or using the Pamac GUI and searching it and installing it. Which either is correct. Like I said unintaling Emby, installing the updates, and then reinstalling emby worked perfectly. https://forum.manjaro.org/t/replace-python-sgmllib-with-extra-python-sgmllib3k-failed-to-prepare-transaction/88131/11 https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/emby-server-beta/ Edited October 27, 2021 by Locutus64
