bandit8623 214 Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 Hello, just had a quick question i could not find by search or looking online. plex does not support refs filesystem since it uses hard links and refs doesnt support hard links. does emby use hard links? if it doesnt use hard links will emby work fine with my library being refs if i was to go that route? refs has is much safer for large raid arrays as its self healing.. is my reasoning as im going to be moving data in the near future and have the opportunity to format my raid array fresh. thx all
Carlo 4561 Posted October 27, 2021 Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) Hi, To the best of my knowledge this should work just fine. Emby does not do the crazy symbolic remapping of folders that Plex does internally. If you have refs setup now you could throw a new server install on it with a half dozen media items and make sure you have no issues scanning or playing back anything. But I don't foresee an issue.
