I've got a whole bunch of files that are in a format "episode# - title [some encoding info].mkv/webp". Emby is recognizing the show and trying to associate seasons with the episodes. However, my files are not exactly the complete episodes (ie - some are clips, others compilations, etc). I want emby to just show me the filename rather than try to put these into seasons. There are 1000+ files. Any way to have emby just not attempt to do all the season matching for this one?

Make "Home Videos and Photos"-type library.

Thanks GrimReaper. That gets me close but it doesn't seems to care if that library has folders for organization. ie - I have several folders with different collections like this and I don't really want them all mixed up. Any setting I'm missing?

Go to Folder view, tab up top.

Actually I have found that it is generally better just to use a TV or movie library as appropriate and then turn off all metadata sources for the library in the advanced settings for the library. That way, is a TV library is correct you can have seasons etc. and even use the "seasons" to group in some correct order. Of course you need to name the whole set of files as if it were a real TV series with the SxxEyy part and named and structured just like a TV series.

I have a library of recorded cartoons that do not "match" directly with anything and I can access that library just like it were a normal TV series.

I'd guess that's exactly what the OP was trying to avoid:

Turning off all meta-scrapers would make no difference, as library name parser would still try to categorize those into seasons.

And with:

As I'd say renaming as per:

would also preferably be avoided.
