How to re-create chapter images?

I have a bunch of movies that do not have the chapter images, how do I put Emby to the task of creating them?

Some movies have chapter marks, some don't. Does Emby then just use a default interval on them?

Library settings>enable "Show advanced options", scroll down to "Video preview thumbnails", set desired behaviour, run "Thumbnail images extraction" task.

Manage Emby Server>Advanced>Scheduled tasks tab, right below "Scan media library" task, click "Play" icon.

Hi @cayars,

could you explain to me how exactly the settings should be to make this function...???

I have a folder with Music Movies (whole concerts), these are all MP4 format and all with chapters included.

Chapters is also showing in Emby, but I'm, so far, not able to create an image for these chapters.

If I click the "play" icon that you mention in the yellow marked field nothing is happening, it just says last ran 1 second ago, taking 1 second.

Trying to have "screen grabber" to grab an image from the movie itself and then to use this as an chapter image.

I can post some pictures later for better understanding if needed.

I think that I remember that this was possible back in time, so that you get an image from the actual movie placed as an image on the different chapters.

@bacardi8 These currently is no way to edit Chapter images in UI.

Would guess you would have to use ImageService api endpoints.

Or figure out what folder in /metadata/library/xx/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/chapters the item Chapter images a located in and change them.

 

But they are extracted from the bif file you are out of luck without rebuilding the interval image bif file.

Thanks for your inputs.

Actually I don't need to could edit the chapters, I just wanted if, automatically during scan, there could be added an different image (from the movie itself) on the different chapters.

I will try to take a look at the mentioned plugin.

is from Jellyfin I found out, they have that future during scan.

Our chapter image extraction already does this. How did you configure the library options for it?

Hi again,

hmmm........When I tried I had focus on the above mentioned thumbnail image extraction under scheduled tasks from cayars, and not on the "video preview thumbnails" as

Happy2Play is showing. This maybe explains why I can't get any chapter images.

I'm not at home currently so I will check that soon. I think my settings is like the picture from Happy2Play, means nothing is set in that field.

I Got it.

I didn't activate "Video Preview Thumbnails", after I did that all chapters have an image from the movie itself.

Amazing stuff.
