Kynan87 0 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Hi everyone, I have my Emby server up and running perfectly on my home network. However, I want to be able to access my server via VPN into my home network whilst outside the house. I VPN into my home network via my router using Open VPN; this gives me an IP address of 192.168.0.6 My Emby server has an IP address of 192.168.1.10 How can I get my devices on the VPN connection to see the server? Any help would be much appreciated

Luke 42086 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Hi, did you make sure to read the help text? That option doesn't have any impact on whether or not you can connect. Looks like you need to enable remote connections, if that's what they truly are. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Hi, that setting you have highlighted will only affect if how Emby Server treats the connection (local or remote). If you can't ping or connect to the server that means you don't have the VPN setup to access your home LAN segment and will need to setup a route between the two subnets. Refer to OpenVPN docs for how to do this.
