visproduction 316 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 Custom Collection with many films always gets a G rating, which will probably be incorrect. You cannot lock and save an empty parental rating.
GrimReaper 4746 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 What exactly do you mean by that? In your screenshot it is locked, and I've just tested it, locking/saving blank collection rating is retained, in addition to collection.nfo being updated. Or I simply don't understand what you're saying?
Carlo 4561 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 By default with no locking of fields a collection will use the rating based on it's contents. Here's an example:
Luke 42083 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 The automatic rating generation for collections and playlists needs to be updated to respect the field locking. So if you really want to have to manage these values manually, you'll be able to do that.
visproduction 316 Posted October 17, 2021 Author Posted October 17, 2021 (edited) Go back and look at your test collections again. It looks like it's fixed, but in my case, the G comes back, after a while. Maybe one of my movies has a locked G causing this. Does everyone's test collection stay with no parental rating if you set it that way? Edited October 17, 2021 by visproduction
Luke 42083 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 No, "G" does not come back for all collections. What comes back is based on the rating of the items in the collection. So it could be different for each collection.

visproduction 316 Posted October 17, 2021 Author Posted October 17, 2021 (edited) Testing some more... Edited October 17, 2021 by visproduction
visproduction 316 Posted October 17, 2021 Author Posted October 17, 2021 I checked all content rated G in the collection. None were locked. I looked at the G rating again for the collection and it was locked at G. I don't remember leaving it like that. I unlocked it and saved the rating as the top blank - empty rating. I cleared cache and restarted the server several times. It seems to stick now as no rating. Perhaps it was some hickup in the cache that didn't clear, regarding a film that was locked once as G. My opening all the films, checking and saving as unlocked G might have done something. It was very stuck before and so far, now it's OK. If it changes back I will post that here. So this is a very minor possible issue that cannot be replicated. Sorry to bring it up and spend people's time.. Everyone have a nice Sunday.
Luke 42083 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 One of the movies must have a G rating. It doesn't matter if the movie rating is locked or not.
Carlo 4561 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 Try doing a full library scan and see if that fixes your collection.
pünktchen 1409 Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 The locked fields of a collection get overriden if another movie is added to the collection. That is at least my experience and probably also what @Luke tried to tell us. 1
