New emby server

I have downloaded emby server, created an account on emby server & emby connect. I have downloaded 2 movies and put them in a folder which is the same folder I connected to my emby account and the 2 movies are now on my dashboard and when I pin my device all I get is the following in the photo I have attached.

Do you have any advice?

Is there anyway to check if my server is set for remote access? I would rather be able to connect a few of my friends and family up via the code, save any hassle. Make life easier.

Hi, please go over all of the things we suggested in the private message and let us know the result of those before we continue further. Thanks.

What else did you go through as part of the connection troubleshooter that we sent you a link to?

Ok so I have now tried entering the In-Home (LAN) access url and Remote (WAN) access url into my mobile web browser with wifi connected which is the same wifi on my laptop with my emby server (laptop is also turned on with emby server open) and wifi also disconnected using mobile data and nothing loads.

I have also noticed in the connectivity page it shows 2 buttons on the photo showing the urls and port, the buttons being Restart & Shut Down, I dont have these buttons on my dashboard, I only have a ‘connection help’ button. Photos attached below.

Thanks for all your help!

Hi again :)

From another computer other than the one running Emby Server can you enter http://YourServerIP:8096 and login?
Use exactly as shown on the server dashboard.

Couple questions for you.
How is Emby Server installed?  Is it installed on a PC running windows or some kind of other device?
How is the server connected to your network?  Is it using WIFI or Ethernet?

Many home routers these days (defaults) isolate the WIFI network so it can't talk to ethernet based devices on the LAN, so the phone test using WIFI may not be a good test right now.

Ok done the above on my other laptop (macbook) opened right away and logged in. Wont work on mobile at all though…

Emby is installed on my windows laptop and connected via wifi.

My issue too is id like it to work when I connect the app with code via emby connect. Saves any hassle giving out the server address and port etc, just makes connecting friends & family devices easier. Right now when I connect the emby app on likes of firestick via the code on my emby connect it comes up with the photos attached below;

Is the lan address displayed on your server dashboard correct?

Yes that LAN address is the one I used on my macbook not long ago and got connected no problem.

Do you know how to open your router's admin site?  If so login and go to the section that shows DHCP assignments.
Find the IP for both your FireTV and your phone.

Open a command prompt on the notebook running Emby Server and type in
ping 192.168.1.5 <-- substitute the IP for the FireTV for one test and then again using the IP for the phone.

Do you get a success or failed trying to ping them from your notebook?

A different question.  Do you have an Ethernet cable you can use to connect your notebook for a couple of tests?
