CassTG 113 Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Not an issue just a little rant. I want to stress for the most part Emby is a cracking piece of complex software, but occasionally i just do not understand the thought process on when someone thinks an idea is great or not. For example - Multiple version naming. I have started to try and tidy up the naming to be easier to recognise file Types, this in itself should be a simple act. But nope not the way Emby seems to handle multiple versions. As an example lets create a few file names: Meet The Feebles (1999) Meet The Feebles (1999) - 1080p H264 Dolby Digital Atmos.mkv Meet The Feebles (1999) - 1080p H264 DTS HDMA.mkv According to the guides everything after the - is what will appear, now if that was actually the case this would be perfect. However, it seems (as has been raised many times before) it does not stop there, what Emby will show in the above examples is the following: Versions: olby Digital Atmos TS HDMA Which is just plain stupid in my opinion, it should just display anything after the dash which makes sense and is simple the removal of duplicate characters is just pointless and counter intuitive For example lets say i have the following versions Meet The Feebles (1999) - H264 Dolby Digital Atmos.mkv Meet The Feebles (1999) - H265 DTS HDMA.mkv what will be displayed is: 4 Dolby Digital Atmos 5 DTS HDMA Again how does that actually help anyone? Rant over - Back as you were
Happy2Play 9781 Posted October 11, 2021 Posted October 11, 2021 Known issue that is somewhat resolved in beta. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/98332-change-to-version-naming-for-movies https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/102286-multi-versioning-drop-down-not-fixed-correctly/ 1
