Was having issue with my HDHomerun, decided to restart the emby server as well as the tuner. Tuner works fine, am able to pull streams with VLC, but keep getting the Playback error on all platforms I use when i try to start the live tv stream (firefox, fire stick, and safari). I tried deleting and re-adding the tuner but that did not help. Any advice would be helpful:

Hi, something is wrong with  your setup as it's showing in the logs

System.Exception: System.Exception: No video encoder found for 'h264'

Shut down Emby Server.  Download the beta version again directly from https://emby.media/windows-server.html
Install it right over top your current installation and then restart Emby Server and try again.

If you have an issue, upload a new server log.

On some linux distros, Firefox does not include h264 support and you have to install it ourselves. Until you've done that, the server has to transcode to webm and it looks like there is a failure in doing that, so we'll take a look at that.

But in the meantime you can probably resolve this on your own: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1317085

Could you please open a command prompt and run this (paste+enter):

C:\Users\bkennedy\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffmpeg.exe

The error code means 'dll not found', seems the installation is corrupt in some way.

I'm on windows server 2012, I ended up reinstalling the non-beta release and got things working again. It's ok to close this tread

The point I mentioned about Firefox on Linux is still true no matter what the server version is

It was an ffmpeg execution error. It didn't even run for the version and capability detection at startup.
