.... a restart or update.

Please fix this. I want to do research on updates before they are applied to my system.

... which should not be happening, I've been running for years with auto-update unchecked.

Which server version are you on? Sorry to be blunt, but do you press Save at the bottom of the page after unchecking?

Been reported hundreds of time and is by design.  When you click update now it automatically enabled auto update.

I never hit "update now".

I ALWAYS press save, and why would this be "by design"?

When I disable Windows "auto-update" that means it's disabled, and I can check for updates without it turning it back on, and it certainly wouldn't enable them just cause it updated.

Leave the box alone.

Sorry over looked and went off title.  No a Restart should never change this option but the update will (depending on how you update) so there server restart does.

Okay I have never had the option reset on any manual update.  But can do more testing.

Only time I have ever seen the option reset is clicking the button on the dashboard.

Are you running the installer again or getting the zip file?

"That's what it does. It fully respects the setting in terms of automated updates. "

I wish that were the case, but it's not. No matter what, it puts a check mark in that box after Emby updates, after I run the installer

What platform as I just ran the Windows beta installer and none of my update settings were adjusted?

Note sure then as I tested on two different systems Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11 Pro, and both maintained the options before running the setup.exe.

Are you reusing the setup.exe or downloading new everytime?

No, I delete them.

Someone else will have to comment then as I ran the Stable and Beta installers and maintained configured server options.

If you manually update don't do a install.

Instead just copy over the system folder.

None of your options should change this way.

It's not by design, rather more of a quirk.
