jsc1205 51 Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 Have no clue what in the world is going on with this series and why it's scrapping the metadata and pics the way it is. I have the settings in Emby for my TV Show library to pull everything from TMDB 1st and then TVDB 2nd. I also have set the display order to DVD to ensure it matches the episode order of the bluray. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why it keeps throwing the order as aired. Plus episode images are all out of whack to! I have fiddled with turning off the lock on the metadata as well as ensuring its turned off for the seasons and episodes hoping that it would scrape to TMDB correctly and still a no go. When I DID get the episodes to list correctly in DVD order, if I click the "info" icon to see what it pulls, its still showing the aired order!!! I know tons have people have had issues with this series and getting it to work right in Plex and Emby. But does anyone have a detailed fix for this?? Thanks in advance.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) Alternate orders only come from TVDB, since you have TVDB as a secondary provider the order, metadata and images come from TMDB and TVDB is backup. You would have to set TVDB as first provider, ensure Display Order is set on Series to DVD, refresh w/replace images. Then I would lock the series. Now you can change the order back to TMDB first if you wish. Note Emby has v4 api access so we will be migrating eventually, plugin is in testing as there are api deficiencies and server core needs updating for changes also.. jsc1205 51 Posted October 4, 2021 Author Posted October 4, 2021 @Happy2Play Thanks for the info. Did what you suggested and now pulling DVD order correctly. I know I did that exact thing 10 mins ago but no clue why it didn't work....but now is. Any reason why its not pulling episode images from TMDB that matches the episode?? If I look at the images available for any given episode, it still pulls images from TMDB using the "aired" display version.

Sorry you have to change image fetcher order also as Emby does not pull alternate orders from TMDB at this time. So metadata and image fetcher order have to match in the case of Display order.
jsc1205 51 Posted October 5, 2021 Author Posted October 5, 2021 Ok that would make sense as to why its not pulling images correctly from TMDB. So will Emby only strictly use TVDB or will users be able to use TMDB as an option in the future?

With multi providers everything comes from the first provider and if anything is still missing it comes from second provider. With the exception of people as they only come from first provider. Display Order is currently only TVDB driven as TMDB has had it for awhile but has not been added yet. But would guess the plugin and server core would have to be updated also for episode groups. I would guess there would have to be a TVDB display order and TMDB display order option and a user could only select one or the other as they both will have some different options. But devs would have to figure out the best way when this happens. As for TMDB display order here is the feature request. Edited October 5, 2021 by Happy2Play
