Skijackz 0 Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 I've been using Emby for years without an issue and ran into two issues recently. I was having a problem with accessing some movies in my collection (l'll start another topic) and was getting a "Stream not found" error. Did some research and saw some issues with upgrades not recognizing paths. Realized I haven't rebuilt my server in a number of years so I decided to reinstall Emby. Reinstall went fine but when I went to add a library for my 350 movies, the library doesn't show any movies. Added two other libraries, one for music and one for home videos, and both were added without issue. This is a Win10 21H1 box using DrivePool to consolidate my HDDs. Nothing had changed with the folders or permissions. All I did was reinstall Emby. I tried recreating a new movie folder and moving everything into that folder without success. Any idea why one folder would not be able to be searched?

Carlo 4561 Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Hi, this would be a permission problem. Make sure the user running Emby has proper permissions at the root folder level and then have it cascade the permissions to all folders under it.
Skijackz 0 Posted October 5, 2021 Author Posted October 5, 2021 Hey Luke, Sorry, work is getting in the way of getting this resolved. I checked the permissions and they are the exact same as the folders that Emby is recognizing. What's crazy is that I haven't changed any of the permissions at the folder or file level. MovieGuide folder - Not recognized Music - Recognized I tried pointing the library directly to one of the movie folders and it recognized it when I did an individual folder but not at the main folder. Here is the structure I have the folders: ServerFolders (Main folder) MovieGuide - 12 Angry Men - 12 Angry Men.mkv The Abyss The Abyss.mkv Music - Main and sub folders recognized TV - Main and sub folders recognized HomeVideos - Main and sub folders recognized
Skijackz 0 Posted October 5, 2021 Author Posted October 5, 2021 I'm going to wipe the permissions from the folders and recreate them and see what I get.
Skijackz 0 Posted October 5, 2021 Author Posted October 5, 2021 (edited) So wiped and rebuilt permissions. No luck. Rebuilt the server (it was time) and added a library with Movies, no luck. Changed the library to "TV Shows" instead of Movies, it pulls everything in. Movies? It won't pull anything in. No idea what is going on here. Edited October 5, 2021 by Skijackz
Luke 42083 Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 How many emby libraries have you created, and what folder paths did you add to each one?
Skijackz 0 Posted October 6, 2021 Author Posted October 6, 2021 (edited) I have three libraries. "Music" and two Movie, "Home Videos" and "Movies" libraries. The path are UNC paths: \\(server)\serverfolders\Movies\(moviefolder)\movie.mkv \\(server)\serverfolders\Music\(artist)\(album)\song.mp3 \\(server)\serverfolders\HomeVideos\(date)\movie.mkv The "Home Videos" Movie library (all mkv) works just fine as does the "Music" library. The "Movies" library will not pick up any of the movies at all unless it's set as TV. There are only two series (Band of Brothers and Johnny Carson) out of 400 other movies. When I rebuilt the Libraries, I created the "Movies" library first and it wouldn't pick any of the movies up. So I built the "Home Videos" library and it picked up all of the movies. On a whim, I deleted the "Movies" library and created it as a TV library. All of my movies were then recognized. So strange because I had the exact same structure for many years and rebuilt Emby without any issue. This rebuild surfaced the issue. Edited October 6, 2021 by Skijackz
Happy2Play 9783 Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 Can you post a server log. But almost sounds like a possible database issue since changing to different content types gives you different results. 2 hours ago, Skijackz said: There are only two series (Band of Brothers and Johnny Carson) out of 400 other movies. Unless you are using Mixed Content type you can not mix TV and Movies. So TV will only show TV ie no movies.

Know that I deleted and rebuilt the libraries again just to make sure I wasn't crazy. Same situation as above. Just a note - I'm heading out on vacation until Oct 12th so I won't be able to respond but thank you very much for looking at this. embyserver.txt

NO movie can ever be identified in a TV Show content type library. So give the images contain a Unplayed Episode indicator they are Mis-Identified just like my example below. So you can not mix media in a specific content type library. Or if you do there is no guarantee what will happen and not supported in any way.
