So seems like it's returning data.  Is Emby reading it wrong since it's complaining about being badly formatted?

I am not seeing any errors connecting to Emby Musicbrainz mirror.  Since these are connection errors are you using a proxy or vpn?

@jriker1 What security software are you running on this machine?
Are you using a VPN to run the server through?

How about your router?

If so turn these off for testing and try to rescan to see if the SSL errors stop.

Perhaps should have started a new thread as it's not stuck for me.  Just getting the above errors and matched some that was in this thread.  No VPN.  Seemed to me like it may be downloading right but the processing was having an issue.  When I see "The message received was unexpected or badly formatted." makes me think the code doesn't like something it's receiving.  Guess it could be an SSL issue, just though it sounded like data it didn't like.

Since this would appear to be a old Windows 10 install could this be a factor?

The operating system is not Windows 10.  The version is accurate but this is Windows 2016 Server not 10.  I'm updating what I can though.

Note OS is now up to date but the above version number hasn't changed so were just minor updates.

Yep, page after page of these errors.  Not sure what it's about visually anyway but logs are full of them.

But the question I would have is what is deficient on this platform as we all should see this error if it were a global issue. 

My have to do a test on a vm server 2016 to see if I get the same results, should be able to do it tomorrow.

I did a vm install of Server 2016 and had no issue with musicbrainz.  This is before any updates were done, will let all updates complete and see if I have any issues.

That's interesting. I would say his issue is either due to VPN usage, or the certificate store in Windows is out of date for some reason.
