kevinw 8 Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 I'm in the process of ripping the Battlestar Galactica Blu-Ray discs using TheTVDB as my naming guide. When emby picks up the Specials there is a mismatch between what's in TheTVDB and what is being displayed in emby. I eventually realised emby is displaying metadata from TheMovieDB, E.g. S00E01 and 02 are the two episodes of the mini series according to TheTVDB, TheMovieDB has them as The Lowdown and Deleted Scenes respectively, which is what emby displays. These are my settings: Have I misunderstood how this works or have you switched away from TheTVDB? I am aware of what TheTVDB is doing, I'm just trying to understand why the metadata is now what I expected. Thanks. Kevin
Solution GrimReaper 4742 Posted September 29, 2021 Solution Posted September 29, 2021 (edited) Well, it shouldn't, according to your settings, as TVDB lists them as Specials on both Aired and DVD order, and API v3 is still live. https://thetvdb.com/series/battlestar-galactica-2003/seasons/official/0 https://thetvdb.com/series/battlestar-galactica-2003/seasons/dvd/0 Unless Emby is swapping those meta-scrapers behind-the-scenes and redirecting, which I highly doubt, without some formal announcement. Edit: Try disabling TMDB meta-scraper there and Refresh Metadata>Replace all, see what gives. Edited September 29, 2021 by GrimReaper Append 1
Happy2Play 9782 Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 (edited) Will have to look into it more but just replicated. Logs shows different info but TVDB metadata is not recorded . So there might be something going on with TVDB right now as they are getting ready to close all legacy api access. Yes a v4 plugin is being worked on. Adding TVDB id to Series and refresh/replace corrected the issue. I see that it actually download the wrong series from TVDB but lucky did not linked it to this series It got Battlestar Galactica (2022) https://www.thetvdb.com/api/B89CE93890E9419B/series/380208/all/en.zip Edited September 29, 2021 by Happy2Play 1

I couldn't persuade emby to pick up the correct series until, as you suggested, I just gave it the TVDB id. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 (edited) I am guessing there is a change to this series on TVDB as I had to manually Identify on my test system As you see Battlestar Balactica (2003) is not searchable for Identify. And to get it to Identify the series only you need to query name Battlestar Balactica (2003) and year 2005. Edited September 29, 2021 by Happy2Play
