Remove old Tags from autocomplete?

Hi,

Sometimes while tagging media I do spelling errors so I remove the tag and add the correct one. If I list my media by tags I can't see the misspelled tags and I'm quite sure that no media is tagged with that wrong tag. But it is still really annoying because while tagging the autocomplete should show a list of all existing tags that start with the letters you already typed in but autocomplete will also show misspelled tags I removed months ago. Lets say I tag something with "Actiion" but I want it to be "Action". I remove the "Actiion" tag and add a "Action" tag. But if I now want to tag another action movie and write the letter "Ac" in the tags field the autocomplete will show me "Actiion" and "Action" but "Actiion" is first so its harder to add the correct tag quickly.

And another problem is that tags are case insensitive. I for example one created a tag "action". But then I wanted it to be "Action" so I deleted all the "action" tags from all the media. Now I wanted to retag them with "Action" but because a unused "action" was still in the DB all my "Action" tags are still saved as "action".

Is there a way to somehow cleanup the tags in the DB?

Isn't this your browser's form autocomplete functionality, not Emby?

Hi, yes can you show a screenshot example? Thanks.

Ah ok, I really thought the autocomplete was integrated into emby because it fits so nicely and is only showing me tags. But yes, it looks like it is the default Chrome autofill.

If anyone else got this problem and wants to delete wrong Chrome autocomplete entries:
Point with your mouse over the wrong autocomplete suggestion and press Shift + Del and it will be deleted from Chrome.

Such a easy solution but was hard to find. Most tutorials point you to some setting menus where you can only delete all autocomplete entries or they point you to the autocomplete settings menu where you can edit individual entries but only for addresses, passwords and credit cards.

But still the question if it is possible to change my "action" tag to "Action". If I type in "Action" it will be saved as "action". So looks like the tag is called "action" in the DB and emby will ignore casesensitivity and match my "Action" with "action" in the DB.

That's right, that autocomplete is coming from the browser. Ultimately we should change these inputs to allow you to select from existing tags, but we haven't gotten there yet.

Possibly if you do not write nfo files as the tag would have to changed in nfo if you do, to update the database.

But they are technically two different tags do to case.

And Edge has a delete button in for this AutoFill.
