Can this type of link be used vs. using m3u?

Hello,

been a paid member for almost 2 years. Very familiar with using m3u method to get live iptv working and recording on emby.

My question is, whether by plugin or adding each channel as tv source, is it possible to add this type of url to emby so I can play in Emby app vs browser?

Is there a way to add a channel that's permanent via Https/http link?

What about a url like below example that goes to a web page with video inside it, (that doesn't take up full screen)?

http://sportsstats.xyz/www.sportsrp.com/mlb2/yankees.php

Hi, no, only direct video urls are supported.

is there a plugin that would support something like this?

@techywarrior used to have a chrome extension to help import these, but I don't know if newer versions of Chrome allow it anymore.

It has a m3u8 link inside of it.

var sou = "https://hl ... .m3u8"

If that link stays static you should just be able to use it (assuming Emby works with m3u8 which I believe it does). If it changes you would need to either keep updating it manually or create a script to pull it out and save it in a place Emby could reference it.

Don't think it will work with MLB streams that way.
Didn't for me anyway when I plugged that URL into the IPTV plugin.

Completely taking the legalities of such services out of the discussion, many a providers selling services on the Internet have all the MLB network channels available in m3u files which allows them to be setup in Live TV.

so I don't understand... how did you determine that the link provided has an m3u8 extension?

or now did you know it is m3u8?

and what is "var sou"? sounds like Linux to me lol

You can hit F12 to bring up the web browser and then use one of the tabs to see what URLs are being used.

Getting the stream isn't hard.  The problem is the authorization behind creating the stream. It may only be active for the host your playing from or likely has an expiration so it's only good for the one event.
