mattykellyuk 18 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) Hi everyone. I have had to reinstall windows after a hardware failure and was able to restore to an emby backup which went smoothly. The only problem that remains is remote connection. My emby runs through cloudfare. Below are the things I have checked The HTTPS port for external streaming is 443. This is open Secure connect mode is 'required..' (I also tried changing this to disable secure mode and that didn't help) Nameservers on domain and cloudfare match IP address of DNS in cloudfare is correct Local IP address is constant and this is in DMZ on the router I have moved to cert.pfx to the new drive and connected using emby server. Does this need changing after a reinstall? fyi my domain is https://emby.xxx Windows firewall is letting emby through. These are the normal things I check when there is a problem and they haven't helped. Really appreciate any help Thanks Edited November 17, 2021 by mattykellyuk
Carlo 4561 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) Hi, If you do a test from canyouseeme.org for port 443 what does it show? You might have an issue with the cert not being recognized or wrong password. Try turning on debug logging (can't remember if this is needed) and restart your server. After it loads check the log for errors about the cert. (turn debug logging back off after doing this). I can do a remote support session with you to help you resolve this. Send me a PM if you want to do this. Edited September 26, 2021 by cayars

Carlo 4561 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 One thing I noticed is the domain you listed above comes back with a ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. So I would check DNS setup first to make sure it resolves correctly.

Carlo 4561 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Is Cloudflare authorized for your domain?

Solution Carlo 4561 Posted September 26, 2021 Solution Posted September 26, 2021 Remoted in and we found the domain provider had charged him for a renewal but show the domain as expired. So he's contacting the domain provider to get this fixed. 1 1

Carlo 4561 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Nice, glad you got it working. What did they say the problem was?

They haven't replied but saw it was available for free for 12 months so just ordered that and edited the nameservers and all good. 1
