No. I chose to not have nfo files but have the metadata in the database. @Luke, if I had chose the option that creates nfo files in each media folder (i.e. I have each movie in its own folder), then a rescan of a folder will read the nfo files into the library and preserve the "data added"? Other than that there is no other way to transfer the "date added" data? I'm interested in case I have to move the library again back from a NAS to a PC Server. Edited October 29, 2022 by pteves

If not saved with media you have to manually update the database and some library files correcting paths for your new platform. 1
razclud 4 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Sorry to revive an old topic but i am in the same situation. Backed up emby PC, managed to mount it and hit restore using that backup. It restarts the emby server but nothing changes. No users, no thing... i gave it permissions to the backup folder as well. embyserver.txt
razclud 4 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Access to the path '/volume1/embyserver-backup-full' is denied. at System.IO.FileSystem.CreateDirectory(String fullPath) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path) at Emby.Server.Implementations.IO.ManagedFileSystem.CreateDirectory(String path) at MBBackup.ServerEntryPoint.ExecuteBackup(PluginConfiguration configuration, CancellationToken cancellationToken, IProgress`1 progress) at Emby.Server.Implementations.ScheduledTasks.ScheduledTaskWorker.ExecuteInternal(TaskOptions options) I am struggling with permissions it seems. I have giveth everything it wants to my admin, still does not work.
Carlo 4560 Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Hi, You will need to set permissions to the backup area for the internal emby user. Have you done that? Carlo

At this point we don't recommend restoring backups across different platforms. There is still more work to be done with the backup and restore process in order to fully support that.
razclud 4 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 i just wanted the playback history and favorites to be remembered. Any way i can do that?

razclud 4 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Nothing worked. I ended up re-creating everything.
