Blusky 1 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Not sure if the problem is MB Classic or MB Server so I started in the Server Forum. I was running a single HTPC with MB Server and MB classic installed on Windows 7 Pro WMC using an External player, MPC-HC with Shark Codecs. All My media Files, backed up movies were on the HTPC Hard drive in MKV format.. I recently built a Media server, Windows Home Server 2011 with Flexraid-F and transferred all my Movie folder from HTPC to Flexraid pool Using Copy and paste movie folder. I uninstalled Mediabrowser server and MediaBrowser Classic on the HTPC and installed Mediabrowser server on my new Media Server. I reinstalled MediaBrowser Classic on my HTPC( My Bad, should have just left it on there). The MB server version is 3.0.5347.22095 MB Classic Version is 3.0.207.0 The issue I am having is when I select a movie flle on my HTPC when the movie opens up in my external player I get this error on the bottom, Stream.asf?params... I cannot select to move forward or rew in the movie and the count up and down timers do not work. the audio is only 2 channel as this recording is DTS 6.1 . MediaBrowser Classic log https://www.dropbox.com/s/rlc0k24mz09bni4/MBClassic-1920142aa51c4b536a4b7abb44f0f0738e5bfc.log?dl=0 MediaBrowser Server Install Log https://www.dropbox.com/s/ksmb5smdnizf1wc/MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.InstallLog?dl=0 Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. MPC-HC had been working perfectly before the move to the new Media Server. When I first opened a movie in MB Classic I did get an exception notice unfortunately I do not know where to find it. Solution ebr 16184 Posted September 5, 2014 Solution Posted September 5, 2014 You defined your library on your new server using local drive references (F:\..). Your HTPC cannot see that drive because it is attached to the server. So, we try to stream it - but your external player doesn't understand doing that. You need to either re-define all the path references on the server to be UNC paths that the HTPC can see (\\machinename\sharename) or use the Path Substitution option in that same place to translate your local drives to those UNC paths. 1

Thank you Ebr. I did the (\\machinename\sharename) and that fixed the issues I have. For some reason the only thing I have missing is when I select Cast in MediaBrowser classic the none of the cast populate in any movies. I am also missing the chapters . When I resume a movie it always starts from the beginning , not last viewed point. Not sure if this has anything to do with these issues but I have read that it is best to not let MB server scan the folders in Flexraid . So I would rip my file to Mkv format then scan them for metadata on my HTPC first and when done I would transfer it to my media server. I have turned off download artwork and metadata from the internet and save artwork and metadata into media folders. My question is can I select one folder on my HTPC that I want MB Server to scan on my HTPC that way I can keep from scanning the Media folders on my media server, flexraid? Thanks again for your help.
ebr 16184 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Where did you read that? I use FlexRaid and MB does all my metadata management with no issues.

I read this in this thread http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/6380-images-not-updated-in-image-cache/?hl=%2Bimages+%2Bnot+%2Bupdated+%2Bimage+%2Bcache , Images Not Updated in Image Cache, post No21 by Mfusick. Maybe he said this because he uses Media Center Master for his Metadata?? If you use MB for all your Metadata management that is good enough for me I will give it a try. Any Ideas on how to fix the when I resume watching a movie it goes always to the beginning of the movie? Thanks ebr
ebr 16184 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 We would have to dig deeper. What are your resume settings on the server? Does the server show these items in the "Resume" section? Specific steps to how you are trying to resume these items etc. BUT - all of that should go in a new thread since this issue is solved. 1
