Bingie 99 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Hi all, I'm trying to figure out what all I can safely move (copy over), from one windows 10 home pc to another, to minimize recreating stuff from scratch. The libraries are the easiest, just move the hard disks over. The four files defined on the server dashboard: cache, logs, metadata (just delete transcoding-temp?) I'm guessing the entire programdata/* subsystem can be moved. What else? What about user accounts? Do I need to re-create those? Or are they stored somewhere that can be moved too? Obviously, I have Emby server already installed on 2nd pc. I'll shut them both down, before copying/moving anything. Will do my best to make sure new server has same config as possible, plugins, etc. I'd appreciate any help with this. Cheers 1
Bingie 99 Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 I guess I can start looking inside each file to see what is what. Was hoping somebody else has already done this, and knew what to do.
Carlo 4561 Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Scroll down about half way https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159936-configuration-backup You can copy the whole Emby Setup from one machine to another. As long as your mapping as the same you are in business. 2
