Landoman 20 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 I spend a lot of time adding a removing items from collections when i just want to move them. I organise movies tv in collections and move them in around from one to the other. Is there a reason there is no move to collection?? It would make organising a lot easier. Its like in explorer you have copy but not move..... 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Collections are a virtual items (no structure at all), created from media item metadata so location is irrelevant. Note the item needs to contain the <set> node to be part of any collection.
ebr 16184 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Hi. Move would imply that an item can only exist in one collection and that is not the case. 1

Luke 42079 Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Quote and then remove Hi, remove from where exactly?

They are shortcuts. If I am in collection A and I would like to move 3 items to collection B I have to select each one, add to collection B and then Remove from Collection A. An "item" or shortcut can exist anywhere and can have multiple copies. When I am referring to remove, I am talking about removing it from the current collection I am in. If you select an item and then add to collection, it does not add it to all collections but just the one chosen. If you select an item and then remove from collection, it does not remove it from all collections but just the one chosen. So it makes sense to add an option to move the virtual link or shortcut from collection A to B. Move implies you removing a single virtual link from Collection A and moving it to Collection B. There should be a "Move from collection", not a move (referring to physical item) You have a Delete button, which refers to the series, ie the physical item. You have Add to collection, Remove from Collection, and a Move to Collection would make sense.... Edited September 21, 2021 by Landoman
Luke 42079 Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 OK I see what you mean. Yes I suppose that is possible. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks I hope it cleared it all up. I have to do the add and delete all the time as I use 4 collections to organise what I want to watch and went. So , for example, when a series has finished the current series i drop it down into the "series continuing" collection. I also have series organised by priority, eg, Must watch series, okayish series etc., bottom of the list series, So i often move a lot of series from one to the other as I have watched them or reviews come in or new series come in...
