Implementation of support for LocalBTV?

Now that Locast is dead, I was wondering if anyone knew of plugins that support LocalBTV?

Hi, does it support m3u output? Then you could import into emby server that way.

Hi, no there is not any m3u support for LocalBTV yet.  It's possible someone will write a proxy for this similar to what was done for Locast.
I think this may get more attention down the road when they bring on the top 4 networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX) to the 13 markets they are currently in as well as add additional channels with their paid service.

Unlike Locast, LocalBTV claims it works directly with station owners and networks to get permission to stream their channels.

The interface to Locast was pretty straightforward.  A REST call to get the guide data for your market and another to get a stream url to start streaming. If LocalBTV is open to 3rd party developers then a plugin may be possible.  If they are not, then it would require someone to reverse engineer their system to get the information needed like Locast was.  LocalBTV seems to stay away from networks and doesn't have the Locast "donate $5 a month to disable the nag commercials" model so they may have some staying power.  But a plugin will require someone doing the legwork I described above.

With any luck someone will be able to create m3u links from the service so the streams are universal.

Of all the services these guys probably have the best chance as it would seem if you get station/network approval and possibly report back views that should work for everyone.  At least you would figure they wouldn't be coming after you if they give you approval. :)

I can't imagine they would keep the stream IDs the same, but I suppose dare to dream :)

What I meant was get this working similar to how Locast worked.

Getting the major networks on board doesn't seem likely on the free version.  Market total viewer count, as shown be the Locast case, doesn't mean anything, networks want the $20 monthly from the cable companies. No way the premium version of LocalTV would be any lower than that they are for profit.

Oh that proxy solution, yeah that was pretty clever.

With this docker I think don't users still lose the major networks since they were never published in lineups JSON

Note that this will only work based on your area / token. So if you have created an account for MiamiBTV, you'll only get the channels linked to Miami, nothing more.
