neob91 0 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Hello, I wanted to automatically download subtitles (using hash match), and I'm wondering whether it will still work after the video file is converted (with replacement of the original file). Is the original video file hash stored for the purposes of subtitle search? If not, then the "require hash match" option is useless when converting whole libraries. The "require hash match" setting does not seem to affect the subtitles listed while manually searching for them, and hence it's difficult to actually see which of the listed subtitles match the hash. I have a video file for which the automatic subtitle download job fetches nothing with the "require hash match" option selected, but fetches an out-of-sync subtitle file when it's disabled. When manually searching for subtitles, it shows the same list regardless of the "require hash match setting". Not sure whether this actually is expected. It would be very helpful to see whether the hash matches in the manual subtitle search. Thanks! PS, I'm on Emby Server 4.6.4.0
Carlo 4561 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Hi, No because a new hash will be generated based on the converted file. The way around this is to download the subs before you convert the files.

Hi, the matches that are hashed matched will be at the top and have an indicator.
