jeflatt 6 Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 (edited) A few days ago I was unable to connect to my EMBY server through the Roku app. I figured it was just a network thing since my router is troublesome. After several days, the issue did not resolve itself. I have since done a complete shutdown and restart of my server, my primary router, and my Wi-Fi router. Still no access. So I tried connecting on different devices all on the same local network as the server. I cannot connect on my Android phone, nor on my Xbox. Furthermore, the server should be detected automatically since they're all on the same network, but the Emby apps cannot recognize it. Also, when I look at the dashboard from the computer that the server is on, there is no local i.p. address listed so I can't even connect manually. It's like the server has lost the ability to communicate over any network. embyserver 9-17-21.txt Edited September 17, 2021 by jeflatt Removed personal information
ebr 16195 Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 Hi. Remove your remote address from that image. Definitely looks like a network configuration issue. Your IP address is showing as 1.1. Do you have any kind of virtual adapters on this machine?
jeflatt 6 Posted September 17, 2021 Author Posted September 17, 2021 Thanks for catching the address. Didn't see that when I posted. I do not have any virtual adapters. It turned off one day like a switch. I watched a movie one night, and the next night it didn't work. I didn't intentionally alter anything nor am I aware of any changes that occurred automatically (Windows updates, etc.) I use Avast antivirus which did do an update recently, but I don't remember exactly if that coincided with the interruption or not.

Solution jeflatt 6 Posted September 17, 2021 Author Solution Posted September 17, 2021 Big thanks to @cayars for finding the problem and fixing it. It was the Avast update. It set my home network to "untrusted" so it blocked Emby. The solution was to simply check the "trusted" box in Avast. 1
