boostedgti916 0 Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 My video keeps freezing but the transcode continues. I am trying to watch 4k movies with chrome and on my phone. Same issue video will start to transcode and play for a few seconds to about 2 min and then freeze. Checking the dashboard and the transcode is still going on. My playback can be at 2 min and the transcode will be at 10 and the video still will not play. This only happens when hardware acceleration enabled. Luke 42079 Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 Hi, looks like some portions of this log are removed. Can you please supply the full thing? Thanks.
BrettDioson 4 Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 (edited) Looks similar to issue reported here: I posted Server and Transcode logs in the older issue. @boostedgti916, I assume you are watching your videos using a browser and not using a client like Emby Theater or the XBox or iOS client? Carlo 4561 Posted September 17, 2021 Posted September 17, 2021 That resolution and bitrate on a phone as Happy2Play pointed out is going to overwhelm it. Try changing the quality to something more reasonable like 1080 8 Mb which should still look really good on a small screen and actually give you a chance of playing it in a browser on a phone.
boostedgti916 0 Posted September 17, 2021 Author Posted September 17, 2021 (edited) Thanks I will be testing more today. But even at a lower res it freezes. What's weird is when I first put the gpu in 2 days ago I was testing and had 5 4k streaks going for about 30 min and everything was great. Now I can even have one. It not only on my phone but my PC and laptop too.. I will get more logs when I get to a computer in about an hour. Edited September 17, 2021 by boostedgti916
boostedgti916 0 Posted September 17, 2021 Author Posted September 17, 2021 Now, I cant get it to freeze. Its acting like when I first put the GPU in. But last night I couldn't watch anything.. Just a little fyi why I dont use the app all the time. I know the apps work best for watching but sometimes when on a work trip I only have my work laptop so the web browser is my only option unless I take my laptop just to watch emby.

boostedgti916 0 Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 Hi all, Still having this issues. Can you take a look at my logs? ffmpeg-transcode-ef612646-066c-4fa0-8575-8d06f5628bc1_1.txt
Carlo 4561 Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Looks like it processed the file ok but I noticed you have around 28 embedded subtitles in the media file. That's a huge amount of subs it has to handle. Try doing a remux and only select the subs you must have in the file. Hopefully you'll only have a couple at that point. Try again with the new file and see if this solves your problem. 1
