If anyone can has an SDTV who can help with some Roku testing? Thanks.

Had an old CRT in my daughters room that was running MB via Roku2. We actually replaced it for her for her birthday a few weeks ago as such the CRT is long gone.

In any case, I do have some info that may be helpful:-

1) 1080p playback works exceptionally well. The Roku seems to auto scale the picture to fit the screen, doesn't look bad at all.

2) The menus all looked fine, little blurry but for the most part, the Roku seems to adapt itself to the screen.

3) No real complaints on how it looked or worked.

4) The only problem I seen throughout use (few months or so) was that the mediabrowser loading screen was severely distorted (as was every other channel). Other than that, everything worked fine.

Anyways, I'm guessing this isn't of much help. Unfortunately I've trashed the old CRT already or I could offer some more help.

Edit:

Note that with Roku2 (Current Gen) or older models of the Roku you can set the picture to SD or just use A/V cables instead of HDMI and it will set resolution as "SD". Unfortunately I can't do this either as I recently replaced the Roku2 with a new Roku3 and gave the Roku2 away. Roku3 only supports HDMI at 720p or 1080p.

Slightly OT, but I'm wondering if there's any chance of supporting zoom features for SD material.

For example, I still like the "dynamic" zoom in WMC for some SD content. It works especially well for older material. Seeing boxed in SD drives me nuts, and it isn't any good for modern sets for any extended length of time. Star Trek and X-Files (seasons 1-4 anyway) come to mind ;)
