Not all collections are created

Hello again,

This is a topic that I already discussed at the time (although I can't find the thread), but it has happened again.
I have several movies, which either have not been created in the collection (I have both movies but not the collection), or have been created with a single movie.

I have given to update metadata in the movies, but nothing has changed.

The truth is that I don't know what else to do to try to make me create the collections or update them with the new additions.

Regards

Do it manually. Add movie to a new Collection, Identify same as you do on Movies/TV Shows, assign other movies to it. Likewise add movies to an already existing Collection.

thanks for answering.

I already know how to do it manually, my question is to know why it is not done automatically.
Not doing something is not a way to solve it, it is not doing it.

Depends on whether both items have the proper metadata and recorded to the database to meet the linking requirements.  But specific example with existing metadata info is needed.

Collection not detected: AVP

Collection not complete : Pacific Rim

in all cases the films are correctly detected and have all the data

They have to be missing metadata or they would be linked.  Do you write nfo files? If so please proved for specific example.

But I would bet if you did a Refresh-search for missing on the items that are part of a collection then collection is displayed.

Yup, exactly.

ok, I got Pacific Rim 2 added to the collection, but in a weird way.

First I have tried to update the metadata of the movie: NOTHING
Then I tried to update the collection metadata: NOTHING
In the end I have re-identified the film by hand with the ID of TMDB and so if it has recognized me as part of the collection.

The strange thing is that before I already had the ID of both IMDb and TheMovieDb

I am not positive on how @Lukeis matching these since tmdbcollection/collectionnumber is no longer written.  But looks like some magic with <set tmdbcolid="363369"> to honor minimum count.

But the items need something from the metadata to match/link the items to create a collection.

Yes, I understand that they use the TMDB data
Only it seems as if the data has been put in and at some point the collection will not be updated

Refreshing the metadata of the movie would have the same effect as the Identify feature if you're just identifying to the same thing.

Yes that is correct.

Well, I already tell you that neither with Pacific Rim (both) nor with the AVP2 it has worked.

Can you provide the nfo files for both pacific Rim movies.

Well, honestly, I can't tell you: it happened that I realized that those two collections were not complete (or even created), but I don't know if I'll have any more like that.

But we can say that yes, it has been solved.

Hello again,

I have found other movies that have no collection despite having all their data correct.
This time I first tried to update the metadata of one of the movies (without result), then I have put the TMDB ID and it does not show me that it belongs to a collection either.

At this point I do not want to do more tests, in case you want me to pass you some information about it.
Otherwise, I always have to delete it and add it again.

A collection needs at least two items, so you'll need to do this for the other title in the collection as well.

Try refreshing the metadata on both movies. Let us know if that helps. Thanks.

I already did, but nothing. But I do it again just in case.

Nothing, the collection has not yet been created

Check the NFO files to see if they both have the "set" parameter with the collection name.

If so, run a full library scan and see if they get created.

well, it seems that we are finding things:
Attraction 1: he does have the collection data

  <imdbid>tt4731148</imdbid>
  <tmdbid>401513</tmdbid>
  <set tmdbcolid="604246">
    <name>Attraction - Colección</name>
  </set>
  <uniqueid type="Tmdb">401513</uniqueid>
  <uniqueid type="Imdb">tt4731148</uniqueid>
  <id>tt4731148</id>

Attraction 2: nothing

  <imdbid>tt8060328</imdbid>
  <tmdbid>514207</tmdbid>
  <uniqueid type="Imdb">tt8060328</uniqueid>
  <uniqueid type="Tmdb">514207</uniqueid>
  <id>tt8060328</id>
