Adam_Kearn 1 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 I know I have alrady marked this as "solved" but just a quick question as this dosn't really require a new forum post. In the libary config its set to perfer titles instead of the embedded headder.... (by default) Why is emby still trying to use the title thats listed in the metadata when the option is not enabled? Is this a bug? It also seems to be doing this on my testing server (fresh install) No matter if this option is enabled or disabled it will still use the title from the metadata instead of the real file name. @Luke @Happy2Play
Luke 42086 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 @Adam_Kearn please go over an example. Thanks.
Luke 42086 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 @Adam_Kearn its not an option to force display of file names, so I think you are misreading. I was about to write out an explanation when I just reread the help text underneath the option and that's exactly what I was going to say.

Do you think you could add an option that would perfer filenames over all metadata as well? Or would that cause too many breaking changes?
Luke 42086 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 @Adam_Kearn well I guess the idea is, it's your nfo metadata file, so why would it contain a title that you don't want. Or if you don't want internet metadata you can also just turn that off in your library options.
