Is "Max simultaneous video streams" supposed to work on LAN? Cause it ain't.

Thanks. In that case don't know what much else to do, as I just saw a user having two concurrent playback sessions from two local IPs. 🤷‍♂️

There is an issue I've reported on this where the limit can be bypassed and is pretty easy to duplicate.

Open two browsers or devices ready to playback and kick them both off at roughly the same time.  They both do the the check and find 0 in use then both work.

It seems that until the player has reported back it's status of playing the server doesn't count it as a stream (or something like that).

In testing if I get one stream started and playing then try and start another stream it does get blocked.
I don't think I tested on 4.7.0.9 yet but it was like this on other recent releases.

I'm on 4.6.4.0 stable. I could try to sift through the log trying to catch the exact times both sessions were started, but this ain't the case as I watching the second session getting started several times with me kicking it out, while the first session was continuously in progress.

Let me know what you find out.

Meanwhile @Luke this still needs a tweak or two.

OK, attached is the crude mockup of sequence of events, where login from two IP's can be observed, simultaneous playback, me appliying User policy (Max stream limit=1), and subsequent both logins and simultaneous playback again.

Attached 2 logs:

1) trimmed log of the day from 0954 to 1027, upon User policy change and server restart and

2) 1027 to 1148, upon server restart till both sessions finished.

Edit: Yes, I need to upload in stages.

Edit2: For the last 30 minutes trying to upload 2nd log, 4MB, my satellite connection obviously doesn't want to let it through. Giving up.

@GrimReaper

Do you use any log viewing tools ?

I use ALV and with a suitable emby log template, you can very easily filter on Class for what you are 'looking' for in realtime without seeing all the other verbose logging.

You can then write the 'filtered log' out to a new log for example (which is tiny in size vs the main log)

Maybe I'm teaching you to suck eggs (and I apologise if I am..) but maybe worth looking into vs a huge log file to analyse/upload .. ;)

Never heard of it, will surely check it out as my eyes almost fell out trying to sift through those logs in Notepad++.

I truly appreciate it. Thanks. 👍

Edit: As a sidenote, connection was more favoravle now, 2nd log attached to above post. Thanks again, though.

Update: Refreshed license so I'm not running on cache, reapplied user policy, went offline - seems to be working now, at least on my tests, checked both on single device/multiple tabs and 3 separate devices simultaneous playback, only single session allowed. Will report if above issue reoccurs.
