wsdoa3465 0 Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Is there a way to remove the details page that comes up once you click on videos and instead just play the media right away?, specifically in 'home videos and photos' library type, for example say you have lots of videos you filmed with your phone and you put them in emby under a home videos library. when you want to view them you just wanna be able to go to the next video without having to view the details page each time, at the moment you have to exit the current video to details page of that video then go back one more time to the directory that have all the videos, then click on another video, which sends you to the details page instead of just playing the video. this is what I want to remove. the details page is the one that has media info where it shows you the path on the hard drive and the technical info of the video and has buttons such as play delete favorite and more.
Luke 42077 Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Hi, there's lots of ways you can already play directly from the list screen: Use a mouse, click the hover play button over the poster On touch devices, tap and hold for the context menu On Tv devices, press the play button on your remote control
wsdoa3465 0 Posted September 8, 2021 Author Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) But no way at all to just have that page removed? These options are better but they are still not as convenient as just one click. Also if you open through the webapp on VR devices these options may not be possible at all. Luke 42077 Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 There is currently no way to do that, but more options for this type of control are possible for the future. thanks.
Leedoos 0 Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 I have the same issue. Right now I can open a video file with 1 click on desktop (by hovering the mouse and clicking right at the round play button), but on mobile browser/Android client it's only possible with long press->play option, if I understand the options correctly. Details page is never helpful to me, and the place I need instant video playback most is on mobile. Is there a setting or a plugin to always skip it, either for all files or for specific libraries, to be able to view videos with 1 click? The option is truly priceless when you have lots and lots of short videos.

It is a workaround, but I wanted to check if there's a way to do it with 1 short click (right now it's 1 long click, navigating the appearing menu and clicking play there). It's not that big of a delay when watching long videos, but when each video is 1 minute long or less and you want to watch a lot of them, several seconds of delay on each add up.
Luke 42077 Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 Hi, ok yes more options to control this are certainly possible. Thanks.
