SDMattman 6 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 This is an issue that has been happening on my Roku for awhile now. I'll update my post in a bit with all the model/version numbers (I'm on my lunch break and don't have the info handy). I'll try to describe what happens. When watching a video, the image will freeze. The audio jumps back about 3-5 seconds and repeats what has already been played. When the audio catches back up the video will play on fine. Sometimes it happens again on the same file, sometimes it doesn't. The only thing that might be a common factor is that it seems to happen more on older SD content. The CPU usage on the Emby server never jumps above 5% when this happens. Where should I start poking around?
ebr 16169 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Hi. Is there a transcode log? Also what is the source? A file or live TV?
SDMattman 6 Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 I'll work on getting a log. The source is a file.

SDMattman 6 Posted September 16, 2021 Author Posted September 16, 2021 It seems to have stopped misbehaving at the moment, and I can't get good feedback from anyone in my household about this... so the next time it happens I'll get right on top of it and post the log.
SDMattman 6 Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 I was never able to solve this. Best I can tell it's an issue when the media needs transcoding. Pretty sure this happened around 19:11 - and it happened multiple times during playback embyserver-63895132800.txt ffmpeg-transcode-ce1e5765-8f71-4a7d-a94d-a961e7e40518_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e41a6f1c-d6d0-4d67-a538-6ec8df7e73cd_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1b39808f-40c0-4546-af1b-48e962238c71_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-1dd4486f-4cae-46f7-972c-ebc9e26ad3a9_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-9bfd793c-38c3-4c7d-97e0-18d12681b037_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-13af0413-5983-4486-a5a4-d3926be679eb_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-367dccd3-b8d6-4922-8111-9df0e48c2f95_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-ac96414d-1cc6-4616-a74b-b72673cb702e_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-b4d9ca4c-0045-4c1e-a2dc-6b7d21d3f499_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-13a3b042-df05-4353-ab1e-38a7133b1717_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-6aea98ac-cff4-4b08-8624-01aa96d16800_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-78749e2c-b47f-4dcb-ad8f-7e5294360c5d_1.txt
Luke 42077 Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 Hi, are you able to update to Emby Server 4.8.11, or the new 4.9 release?
SDMattman 6 Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 Yeah, I just updated to 4.9.1.80 Should I post new logs if this continues?
