romankk 9 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 I need assistance with a problem that I cannot resolve myself. My Emby installation consists of multiple Movie libararies (separated by languages). After adding a new movie in the filesystem, the library sync does not find this movie. Here are some observations: When adding the same file to a different library, it can be found there Playback of the other movies in the library works I am able to access the new folder and the files in it by trying to add it as an M3U source (which makes sure that the process can actually see the folder) There is no "progress bar" when syncing the library The log only shows "Debug XmlSerializer: Deserializing file /var/lib/emby/root/default/Movies INT/options.xml" (twice) and nothing more A restart of Emby does not help Is there anything I can do to persuade Emby to scan my files again? I am attaching the log file that includes also the library scan (which is not much). Emby version is 4.6.4.0. Thanks! embyserver.txt
romankk 9 Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 So, replying to myself, it seems that I found the source of the problem. Another folder in the same library had some wrong permissions. After fixing the permissions, the movie in questions was suddenly found during the sync. May I suggest to add more logging to the library scan code so that it better visible where there might be a problem? Thanks! 1
Carlo 4561 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Glad you got this figured out and working.
romankk 9 Posted September 10, 2021 Author Posted September 10, 2021 Yes, I am glad, too However, an error message in the log showing me which folder is was not able to enter would have made it much easier to understand the problem. The log is on debug level, so it should not be a problem to be a bit more talkative. Thanks! 1
