horstepipe 422 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 hello folks As I'm currently rearranging my genres with genre cleaner, it caught my eye that this function would be very handy: If a movie (or show) has two specific genres, map it to another genre. E.g.: A movie has the genres action, andventure -> map it to "action & adventure" A show has the genres Sci-Fi, Fantasy -> map it to "Sci-Fi & Fantasy". @chef I know you're willing to update some plugins, maybe you have some time somewhen and desire implementing this?
Carlo 4561 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Hi, keep in mind that could have a downside as you would now have both media tagged sometimes with just Sci-Fi and other times Sci-Fi & Fantasy which could make finding things harder.
ebr 16184 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Yeah, you wouldn't want to replace them. In fact genre cleaner was created to help eliminate those "combined" genres because they do muck things up. But, we'll see what others think.

Yes but in fact there are movies whose only genre is Sci-fi, and there a movies whose genres are Sci-Fi and Fantasy.

And exactly this is what I want as for me personally it would make finding movies easier and not harder. Because there’s a difference in sci-fi movies, fantasy movies and a mix of them.
