Setting default view in Library to the actual content

Hi,

 

I'd really like to know how I can set the default view when entering a library to "movies" or "series", instead of the "suggestions".

I had set this up in the past, however I just cannot remember where that setting was. Please help.

Hi, look at your home screen settings toward the bottom.

Log out and back in again and look at your selections to make sure they stuck correctly. This shouldn't be needed but I'm asking you to do it for diagnostic reasons only.

Then try entering one of the libraries and show us what the default screen is that didn't work correctly.

Logged out and back in, everything seems to be the same.

Hmm, that' strange.

Did you recheck the home screen settings to make sure Filme tab was still selected?

Yeah, settings are unchanged. Maybe a bug? I am running Emby 4.7.0.9 beta.

This is working for me in 4.7.0.9 so not quite sure what to think.

Can you try these settings with another user on your Emby Server to determine if this is a specific user issue or not?
That could be helpful.

Still the same. The order of "movies", "series", "anime", "live TV" etc. was a bit messed up. Fixed them. 

However, Emby still defaults to "Suggestions" when I enter a Library instead of showing its actual content.

Does this only happen in Emby Theater?  What version of ET are you using?

No, happens in Emby Theater (Windows Store version, updated12. Aug. 21) and the Android version (3.2.0.05). Sorry, couldn't find the Windows Store version number anywhere.

The Web version is fine though, depending on where I click. If I use the button in the side menu it gets me to the entire category (say Movies).

If I click the title on the startpage, like "Latest Movies" it sends me to the "Suggestions" menu of the "Movies" category.

Hmm, I can not reproduce this, both My Media and Navdrawer land on the same tab, whatever is selected in user options.

I can not reproduce in ET Emby for Windows 1.1.365.0 (Windows Store).

Only client I have seen a difference is the Roku as you have to set it within that client.

Have you tried toggling to something different in the client you are having issues with?

Ah, that toggle... Nope, does not change anything, except if I change things to "Favorites", that's the only one it does bring up instead of "Suggestions"

Not sure then as I can not reproduce anything you are seeing on 4.6 or 4.7.  So you will have to wait and see if Luke has any ideas.

 

I guess one more question, how are you connecting to the Server (directly or connect)?

I'm using connect on the apps (Windows and Android) and I'm directly on the server on the browser.

At least for me all connections provide me the correct results, they all honor the set landing tab.

Note I do not have any Android devices so no testing was done, but no issue reproduced in web client, online app, ET (Store and Desktop).

Thanks for the effort.

I hope this gets somehow fixed in an update then...

Going to use the sidebar a lot more in the meantime.

That is the issue, it can't be fixed if it can not be replicated.  But Luke will take a look.

Keep in mind that it only applies to the emby user who configured the option, just in case you might be logged into different devices with different user.
