Artist Image Data has come along way

Hi Dev Team and All,

 

MB3 is now acquiring images for the vast majority of artists in my collection. Images are more often square in my collection. Well done & thank you.

 

I dont know if it was coincidence or the result of a recent build, but I noticed a significant step change in artist image data success/quality (50% to 95%) after deleting MB3 cache/ibn/data  (everything) and allowing a complete rebuild.

 

If MB3 were to split artists on 'separators', i believe it would get to 99%.

I agree with you regarding significant improvements over time with artist image success/quality.  MB3 does support artist separators.  If I'm not mistaken, valid separators include ";", "/" and "feat." where "feat." covers cases that say "artist A feat. artist B".  The dev team can chime in to confirm I got this correct and elaborate if other separators are supported... I have chosen to use ";" and works perfectly.

do you think MB3 may ever make use of that artist 'whitelist' extracted from the musicbrainz database,  to aggressively split on more separators?
